Hi,I got Scoops since v1.3.
When I upgrade to v1.4 (or upgraded to iphone 2.2?), the local socre board can’t update and it quit to iphone home since i enter my name and press enter arrow. The Scoops v1.5 have the same result. Even I delete it in iphone and reinstall won’t help.

I’m not sure what would be causing that but Ill be sure to try and replicate it. Do any of your other apps crash?

I think I might have found a potential cause for these crashes, hopefully 1.5.1 will fix this issue for you guys.

Great update! No crashes for me! I’d love to see a ‘friend leaderboard’ that might leverage the contacts list.. Also, any way you can make Scoops save your current status when the app quits durring a game? Keep up the good work!

Hi is there any way to maybe get the most out of the extra life scoops? Max is 3 and it’s sort of a downer

Can anyone who’s experienced crashes please let me know, 1)what iPhone OS the are running (2.2 is latest), 2) what device they have (iPod / iPhone 1st / 2nd gen), 3) if your phone is jailbroken, and 4) what language you have set on their phone? Thanks.

Ok, I think I figured out the bug. Pretty sure it has to do with international date formats with international characters. I’m hoping 1.5.1 fixes this issue.

I think that if you have 3 lifes and get an extra life scoop, you should have 4… If that made any sense.

Hey Rich, thanks for the suggestion! Scoops was designed to be a quick fun minute or two long experience, and with the addition of extra lives the game has been stretched to even longer periods of play (around 15-20 minutes to get 300k points). I’m not sure the game would even have much of an end at all if you were allowed to save up more than 3 lives!

Zoe, have you tried deleting & re-installing the game, and / or rebooting the iPod?

The thing is I got it for free and I don’t have any bank details to be able to buy it if I delete it

No matter what price you “bought” it for the first time, iTunes will never re-charge you to download it again. It may show a button with a price to download it, but after you enter your password it will tell you that you have already purchased the app and that it will be downloaded for free.

Do you have the scoring rules anywhere on line? I am just curious if the score for each scoop is the same? When you get the extra life scoop and you already have 3 lives, what determines the score? Any other info on scoring would be great!
Thanks!

Hi Cindy, sorry it is not fully explained anywhere but the scoring is as follows:

Each scoop is worth 50pts times your current multiplier.
The star scoop is worth 100pts times your current multiplier if you already have 3 lives.

Every time you catch a scoop your multiplier goes up 1, if you have similar scoops it goes up 2.

Every time you miss a scoop your multiplier goes down 1 and you loose 10pts times your current multiplier.

Hope that helps!

Steve, sorry to hear you’re having problems. When you say you’re re-installing it do you mean just re-syncing with your computer, or are you re-downloading it from the store? That is the only thing I can suggest. I’d try deleting from both iTunes and the phone, then syncing and re-downloading?

Ian, thank you for answering. to follow up on the crashing problem noted above yes I have deleted the app from my computer then synced with iphone to make sure it is also deleted there and then re-downloaded to my computer and then re-synced with iphone. I have done this three times and still the app crashes within a few seconds of launching.
please help

Hi Ian:

First let me tell you how very much I enjoy this game! I have told all my friends about it. Being 54, I’m not much of a game player but this is the bomb.

One problem I am having though is that when I touch the screen to start the game, it brings up the main screen (except for the play, scores, help etc.) and then shuts off. I have to repeatedly touch the icon, and by repeatedly, I mean 20 or more times. It doesn’t happen consistently either. One thing I do notice is that it happens a lot at the hospital that I work at. This is a new as I showed everyone the game when I first got it. Any ideas? Thank you.

hi, I’m addicted to scoops ever since I bought it. I was wondering how often the global leaderboard was updated? or is it supposed to be live-updating? because according to the scores, I should be 9th right now but my score doesn’t show up. do I have to do something to get on the board?
thank you!

@stephanie The high scores are fetched every time you launch the game. Any score which makes it into the global top ten stays there for 24 hours or until its knocked off the list, whichever comes first.
