Scoops 1.3 update

Posted by: Ian In: iPhone

Scoops 1.3 should be percolating down to users today, it gives players the ability to enter their initials when a high score is achieved, and also lets your ice cream stack past the moon! Enjoy!

Hey Ian….great update. really fun game!

I like the new enter the initials screen, cool way to choose the letters.

Why limit it to 3 letters though? Maybe let us put how ever many characters we want.

Thanks

I would like to evolve the local leader board into a world-wide one, and limiting input to a player’s initials is a good way to prevent offensive player-generated content. Glad you like the game!

The new update is great! I just wanted to let you know that I have been experiencing a bug with it, sometimes when i go to save a high score and the game has already put in my initials it glitches and freezes up. The letters still move but I can’t select anything and I end up just escaping and it doesn’t save my score. :( Just thought you should know and hopefully you can fix it!

Thanks for such an amazing game and all the wonderful updates!

Hi Ian - this is such a great game … i really love it - and it is so addictive ….. i hope that you sell a zillion and become super rich …

just a question or two …

are the stars on the RHS your “lives” - and if so - how do you get extra ones ..

what are the numbers followed by the little x in the centre top of the screen - they seem to increase when i stck same colors on top of one another, but after a while also seem to decrease - so they go up and down in some sort of pattern, but i can’t work out what they mean…

great game … it’s a “must buy”

keep up the good work

I’m so glad you like the game! The stars on the right are indeed your “lives”. You get a maximum of 3 lives at a time, and as of version 1.4 you can earn back lost lives by catching the special purple star scoops. The number at the top of the screen with the “x” is your points multiplier. The number of points you get for each scoop is multiplied by that value. When you catch a scoop the multiplier goes up, and when you miss a scoop it goes down. Enjoy the ice cream!

Awesome job with the update, but I was a bit bummed that the newest high score still isn’t highlighted… maybe for the next release?

Also, if you get the purple star scoop and then catch a rainbow sherbet scoop, maybe you should get an additional extra life?

Thanks again and keep up the great work!!

Thanks Leigh, I thought the addition of the date in the scores would help identify your latest score, but I realize people play multiple games a day (which is a good thing!). I’ll look into squeezing the highlighting into the next update.

I think the extra lives drop almost too often as it is already (1/100 chance), and I think the game would get too easy if there were even more ways to earn extra lives.

I’m just finishing up global high scores as we speak, so you’ll have that to look forward to in the next update. Be sure to show Scoops to all your family and friends over the holidays! :)

Hey Ian, I have a bug to report that I can reproduce.

Playing a game, get some scoops, then pause the game. Put the phone into sleep mode and then wake it up again.

1. It’s not paused anymore
2. It can no longer pause anymore again, screen I unresponsive and is dimmed.

Thanks for telling me Zinc, that is a known issue that should be fixed in 1.5.1.
